In a report that was published in 2011 and that looked at decades of information, it determined that someone who consumes a sugar-sweetened soda only once per day without modifying their diet could gain as much as nearly 7 kg (roughly 15 lb) per year!
From another report, an individual named Peter, 21 years old, lost 5kg in a month simply by cutting out sugary sodas. Not sure how many sodas he drank per day, but I assume it was a lot!
